Multivitamins and fluoride are not usually considered necessary when a baby is breast-fed up to this time. One exception: babies whose mothers don't drink vitamin D -- fortified milk and who either live in northern latitudes or can't spend regular time outside need a supplementary prescribed by their pediatrician. In addition babies born prematurely need special supplements.
